This piece explores the quiet tension between concealment and revelation.
The Rebbe explains in Likkutei Sichos, Vol. 35, Parshas Shemos that redemption is not about destroying exile but transforming it—revealing the hidden divine light that is already present.
The Rebbe’s words echo here:
"גם בזמן הגלות יש כבר ניצוצות של הגאולה, ועלינו רק לפתוח את הדלת ולתת לאור להאיר."
"Even during exile, the sparks of redemption already exist—we just need to open the door and allow the light to shine in."
The Geula is not something to chase, but something to uncover. Light does not wait on the other side; it seeps through the cracks.
A rusted door stands weathered—its surface marked by time, exile, sorrow, and story. Yet it does not seal what’s beyond; it invites. At its center: a keyhole, through which bursts a world of life—a radiant garden, a sky washed in blue, the sun ablaze and an eagle in flight. They are symbols of protection, hope, and Hashem’s swift redemption. They're not dreams beyond the door—they are truths within it.
The battered key nearby holds memory and potential—proof that even worn tools open sacred spaces. And from above, olive branches descend—symbols of wisdom, resilience, and light drawn from pressing. Like the oil of the Menorah, it is the hidden light—Or HaGanuz—meant to be revealed.
This work is a visual meditation on the idea that redemption is not a distant future event, but a present reality awaiting recognition. The cracks in the door are not flaws—they are openings. They remind us that Geula is already here, waiting to be revealed
